Which notifications can I change?

You can customize all notifications of the Check-in Time (waiting and alarm notifications), Reminders (all reminder notifications) and Fall Detection (alarm and notification texts) modules.

Can I edit the read-aloud texts?

Yes. You can completely rewrite the TTS (read-aloud) texts of the Check-in Time and Reminders modules. You decide what Companion says to you out loud.

Are templates backed up?

Yes. All the templates you create can be backed up with the Backup & Restore module. Even if you change phones, all your customized messages come with you.

Can I move them to a new phone?

Yes. By moving the backup file to your new phone, you can bring back Companion's whole way of speaking. You don't have to customize everything again.

Can I go back to the default messages?

Yes. You can reset any template with the "Restore Default" option. The system automatically starts using the default message again.

How do variables work?

If you write {name} in a template, it's filled in with the user's name; {note} with the reminder note; {emoji} with the emoji you chose. Create dynamic, personal messages.

Can each module use a different template?

Yes. You can create completely different templates for each module (Check-in Time, Reminders, Fall Detection). Formal messages for Check-in Time, warm ones for Reminders, calm ones for Fall Detection — it's all your choice.

About the Module

Templates Center is the personalization module that lets you customize Companion's automatic notifications, voice announcements and system messages. The notification texts, TTS announcements and alarm messages of the Check-in Time, Reminders and Fall Detection modules can be completely rewritten by you. With the smart variable system, dynamic fields such as a person's name, a note and emojis are filled in automatically. The templates you create can be backed up and moved to a new phone. The same app, different ways of speaking.
