Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Parent PIN?
The Parent PIN is a special PIN used to protect Companion's critical settings. It must be entered before vital settings such as Check-in Time, Reminders, Emergency Contacts and the Safety Modules can be changed.
Can my phone PIN be used instead?
Yes. Parent PIN works together with your phone's existing security. Your phone PIN, pattern, fingerprint or face recognition can all be used.
Is fingerprint supported?
Yes. If your phone has a fingerprint reader, it works with Parent PIN. When you want to do something critical, you can verify with your fingerprint.
Which actions are protected?
Check-in Time (deleting, editing), Reminders (deleting, editing), My Location Book (deleting, editing), Emergency Contacts (deleting, editing), the Protection Systems (turning off) and access to encrypted items in the Clipboard are protected.
I forgot my PIN — what can I do?
The Parent PIN can't be displayed again. If you've forgotten it, you can reset it by reinstalling the app or contacting support. However, in that case all your Companion data is reset.
How is encrypted information in the Clipboard protected?
Encrypted notes, credit card details and passwords in Smart Clipboard require your phone's security verification (PIN, fingerprint, face recognition) before they are shown. Unauthorized access is blocked.
How does the secure session work?
Once you verify, a session opens. When the app goes to the background, the session is reset. The next time you want to do something critical, you need to verify again.
