What is My Location Book?
My Location Book is the personal location management module of the Companion app. It gathers the important places in your life (home, work, the hospital, the parking lot, family members' homes) in one place, organizes and shares them, and starts navigation.
How do I save a location?
Saving a location is very easy: save where you are with GPS in a single tap, paste a Google Maps link or enter coordinates manually. Every method creates a location within seconds.
Can I use a Google Maps link?
Yes. When you paste a link copied from Google Maps into My Location Book, the coordinates are extracted automatically. No need to type an address or work out coordinates.
Can I send a saved place to the Location Reminder module?
Yes. You can send any place saved in My Location Book to the Location Reminder module with a single tap. Let your hospital entry also alert you as you get close, and your parking entry remind you as you leave.
Can I start navigation?
Yes. When you pick a saved place, you can start navigation in Google Maps with a single tap. No searching, copying or pasting addresses. Just tap and go.
Can I share a location?
Yes. With ready-made share text, My Location Book shares the name, the Google Maps link and your note as a single message. WhatsApp, Telegram or SMS — the other person starts navigation with one tap.
What are categories for, and how many are there?
It offers 28 different categories to organize your places: Home, Work, Parking, Health, Family, Shopping, Education, Sports, Café, Bank, Vet and more. You can also organize them visually by giving each place one of 9 colors.
